- High Impact resistance.
- Minor distortion will be present on fender contact but increases in strength the more it is used, (other foams go softer with increased use).
- Outer cover allows boats/vessels to skid on fender without rubber burn to the paint and leaves no marks / different coves can be used.
- Barriacel SF can be formed into many different strengths and hardness’.
- Custom made fenders can be made to order thus increasing the range of fenders and wheels.
- Skid fenders can be repaired if sliced or badly damaged.
- Due to the unique consistency of the wheel construction:
- When the boat or vessel makes contacts with the outer of wheel it compresses about 15 to 20mm and as the load or inertia goes on due to wind shear etc , the impact of the wheel construction increases,
squashing to about 30 to 40mm therefore increased pressure means higher density.
- What is often overlooked is that the hub of the wheel also takes impact. This is not an issue for the Barriacel Docking wheel due to the construction of wheel (all wheels have been independently pre tested with a 230kg pressure run over a distance of 30 meters.
- Tested with a 40tonne boat and a 10Knot wind shear, the wheel continued to turn as increased pressure was applied.
- A blow up wheel will perform similarly, more pressure more resistance but with the risk of a blowout and possible damage to the vessel.
- A normal marine high density foam wheel will not increase in density. Over a long period of time it will get softer and with that, the wheel gets flat sides as the boat impacts with it. This stops the wheel from turning and will destroy the wheel and may cause damage to the boat.
- Different attachments can be fitted to the fender for different applications:
- Stainless steel rod with hinge attached.
- Cord tube with Alloy split tube hinge.
- Eyelet SS for cord or screw.
- Double ended high tension connection.
- Plastic dome bolts.
- Flotation devices
